The world is boring without music

Wed Mar 25, 2009, 12:16 PM
Today I forgot my MP3 player at home and realised: the world is boring without music. Well, there are moments when I appreciate silence or the birds singing – but taking public transportation in Vienna in the morning is NOT one of those moments. It was like watching a movie without the soundtrack. Imagine the camera slowly zooming on Batman on top of a skyscraper. Without the music by Hans Zimmer. Yeah, it would be boring. Oh, even better example: Imagine the final duel of “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” without Ennio Morricone's score. Booooooring!

Taking the subway in Vienna is neither like Batman nor a Western – now guess how boring that is without a proper soundtrack!

Some people criticize that you don't notice what's going on around you when listening to your MP3 player. You know what I say: That's exactly the point. Have you ever listened to what crap some people are talking about in the subway? I really don't want to know, but they force me to listen by screaming into their phones or shouting at their buddies on the seat right beside.

So much on forgetting my MP3 player. Should be the only rant on that topic – at least until I forget charging the batteries.

Hi Dave,

sorry für die späte Antwort, hatte zuletzt keine Zeit bei dA vorbei zu schaun.

Hyperion ist genial, schlägt für meinen Geschmack sogar noch Dune.
